Bonymaen v Cwm

BONYMAEN V CWM—26 january 2009

It was boxing day blues for Cwm on a cold and windy day at Parc Mynydd Mawr as Bony completed a double over the club for the first time in many years

Cwm started brightly and went six points ahead mid way through the first half as a result of two Peter Thomas penalties . With Cwm then pressing on the Bony 25 poor handling led to Bony breaking away with a kick and rush to score under posts with out half Brookes adding the extras and Bony soon scored a second try after a number of driving scrums on the cwm line . Cwm then fought back and a try in the corner by promising second row Dan Webb followed by a touchline conversion by Thomas made the score 15-13 to Boney at half time

the second half was all Bony with thier pack taking control and with the cwm pack being continually being disrupted and driven back and cwm forced to defend and live on scraps

The pressure led to three further trys for the home side with Brookes for the second time this season proving to be Cwms bogey man dancing through weak tackles to run in and score from 70 yards out and ending up with 17 points as the home side finished strongly despite being down to 13 men at the end as the ref finally dished out yellow cards for Bony's constant infringements in the loose

With results not going Cwms way elsewhere the blues slipped to the bottom of the table for the first time this season to make it a bad end to 2009 for the visitors but with games in hand and seven home games to come our fate in 2010 remains frimly in our own hands even if another houdini show needs to played out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
