Tonmawr v Cwm
TONMAWR V CWM—17 October 2009
The Blues best performance of the season so far saw them come
agonisingly close to taking a point away at big spenders Tonmawr in a game of two halves.
Tonmawr dominated the first half to run in three scintillating tries to score 19 points by half time with only the reliable boot of Peter Thomas with three penalties and some good line kicking keeping the Blues in touch.
The second half was a different affair with Cwm taking the game to the home side and tries by excellent No.8, Paul Rummings, and wing Matt Nolan brought the visitors back into the game. Two tries by Wales 7’s World Cup winner, Selly, and Davies kept Ton in front as Cwm pressed forward.
Right on full time Cwm were awarded a long range penalty which would have given the visitors a deserved point. The kick drifted wide and Cwm were left thinking of what might have been after winning the second half -14—12. A good gutsy performance by an improving Blues team.
Final Score : Tonmawr 31 Cwm 23
